Here are some interesting blog posts I have happened upon recently:
- Fear, Unconditional Love, Are You Sure? at Got-Wicca? takes at look at some thoughts I have had when sitting through a Christian church service
- Creation of Stir the Cauldron at Stir the Cauldron is Lady Rose’s short autobiography and how she was truly inspired to start her tarot blog
- Growth Magick at Pagan Mom is more about spirituality and parenting than it is about a simple spell she did.
- Taking Charge of Your Life at Love, Hope, And Life is very inspriational and for some of us, a much-needed kick in the seat of the pants
- Building a Better World at Keeping the Sacred Flame asks the decpetively simple question: How do you improve the world around you?
- RE at The Sacred Space says Keep Seeking Your Path and details her spiritual hourney over her life.
Lots of good reading here for the Wiccan and Pagan :) Enjoy over coffee (or tea) as I did!

The full moon for April is occurring on Sunday the 20th (tomorrow) so I thought I might try to get ahead on my working with the moon phases mini-series. Also, the full moon is my favorite not only to look at in the night sky but to work with magickally.
The full moon occurs from 14 days after the new moon until 17.5 days after it, and appears fully round. The full moon rises at sunset and sets at sunrise, the exact opposite of the sun.
When the full moon is the opposite of the sun, its energy is at its fullest (pun intended) for increase and can be used for
- just about anything you want to bring INTO your life
- just about anything you wish to bring TO you
The reason I say “just about anything” is Wiccan ethics are still in place.
Blue moons and lunar eclipses also happen only at full moons. A blue moon is the second full moon in a calendar month, and happens approximately every two and a half years. A lunar eclipse is when the Earth’s shadow falls on the moon, and turns it beautiful and interesting colors. The last lunar eclipse in North America was this past February, and I was lucky enough to see it when the clouds parted.

I cannot make this kind of (excrement) up: Bob Barr, our old nemesis from Georgia, is running for President of the United States … as a LIBERTARIAN!!! I couldn’t believe it when I heard it on the radio Saturday: the former congressman who tried so hard to ban Wiccans and Pagans in the military from worshipping on post is trying to convince the Libertarian Party he is one of them.
Certainly y’all have NOT forgotten the (excrement) he pulled from 1999 through 2000! I know I will not forget, as I was in AIT at Fort Gordon, Georgia when things really heated up in the spring of 1999 and the information came out that the Sacred Well celebrants held the vernal equinox (Oestara) on Fort Hood, Texas land with the base’s full permission and the support of the chaplain. Bob Barr immediately sent a letter to Hood’s commanding general asking him to “stop this nonsense” and even introduced an amendment to a defense bill that would “forbid Wiccan worship on military bases.”
While the flap continued through the spring, Barr won the undesirable “Burning Times Award” as well as the 1999 Equinine Posterior Achievement Award (no official link at People for the American Way website). Google could find no announcement that Barr has ever apologized for his behavior or words.
Naturally, the whole flap about Bob Barr wanting to deny military Wiccans their religious freedom is conveniently left off of his current website. In fact, his “about” page says:
Bob Barr works tirelessly to help preserve our fundamental right to privacy and our other civil liberties guaranteed in the Bill of Rights.
Either A) Bob Barr is blatantly lying and is the same person who earned infamy in 1999 by stridently calling for the suppression of soldiers’ rights to worship as they believed on military installations; or B) Bob Barr still owes us Wiccans and Pagans a sincere, heart-felt apology.
Which is it, Bob?

I just glanced at the moon phase widget in the sidebar and realized the first cresent phase of the moon is about to pass. Eek! Where did yesterday go? LOL I’m behind, I’ll admit it.
The Cresent Moon lasts from 3.5 days after the new moon to 7 days after the new moon. It rises around mid-morning and sets shortly after sunset (depending on the season) and seems to lag behind the sun a bit.
Cresent moon energy is good for spells and workings that involve
Next up (hopefully tomorrow) will be the first quarter moon magick.
