Working With the Gibbous Moon Phase

The Gibbous Moon phase is the “almost full” phase, and in its last night can often be mistaken for a full moon.

The Gibbous moon phase runs from 10.5 days after the New Moon until the moment of the Full Moon (14 days after New).  It rises in the mid-afternoon and sets around 0300 (”zero-dark-stupid” as we called it in the Army).

Gibbous moon energies are good for workings that involve:

  • Patience
  • Peace
  • Courage

The Gibbous moon hold the promise of the Full, but is not quite there .. although with a few days’ patience the fulfillment always arrives.

  3. I do feel a bit courageous around the full moon, but then that could just be me seeing more than normal at night. ;) Nice post and very thought provoking.

  4. Oh, great does that mean it’s a good time to cast spells.

  5. The Moon Phase Calculator calculates moon, or lunar, phases for any year between 1 and 2100. Any location available through the World Clock may be selected, and the calculator will adjust for local time. If the selected location observes daylight saving time during parts of the year, the times shown will reflect that. http://www.timeanddate.com

  6. Just added a link to your site from mine, great blog.
