The First Quarter moon phase will look like a half-moon, as it is halfway between the New Moon and the Full Moon.  As one of the four marker points, it can hold quite a bit of magick and energy.

It begins from 7 days past the New Moon and lasts until 10.5 days past the New.  The First Quarter moon will rise around noontime and set around midnight.

The First Quarter moon energies are best for:

• Elemental Magick and meditations
• spells for luck
• spells for self-improvement

All of these workings are directed at improving yourself or your magick, and the First Quarter is the best time to do them as you look inward.
