Working With Full Moon Magick
The full moon for April is occurring on Sunday the 20th (tomorrow) so I thought I might try to get ahead on my working with the moon phases mini-series. Also, the full moon is my favorite not only to look at in the night sky but to work with magickally.
The full moon occurs from 14 days after the new moon until 17.5 days after it, and appears fully round. The full moon rises at sunset and sets at sunrise, the exact opposite of the sun.
When the full moon is the opposite of the sun, its energy is at its fullest (pun intended) for increase and can be used for
- just about anything you want to bring INTO your life
- just about anything you wish to bring TO you
The reason I say “just about anything” is Wiccan ethics are still in place.
Blue moons and lunar eclipses also happen only at full moons. A blue moon is the second full moon in a calendar month, and happens approximately every two and a half years. A lunar eclipse is when the Earth’s shadow falls on the moon, and turns it beautiful and interesting colors. The last lunar eclipse in North America was this past February, and I was lucky enough to see it when the clouds parted.
