Divination in Wicca

I’ve given this topic a bit of thought, and have decided I will not attempt for this blog to be a “how-to” on different divination methods.  I’ll leave that for the specific niche blogs like the also-new Stir the Cauldron is for tarot.

Instead, I feel I would better serve by writing on just where divination fits into our lives as Wiccans, and also how divination tools can be used in spell crafting.  Divination tools can add powerful kicks to workings and spells, with runes and tarot cards giving me the best mileage.  I also use the tarot cards for readings, but have learned over the years that I simply am not adept at reading the runes.  That said, my two sets of handmade runes are most excellent at turbo-charging spells even though they have not spoken for me in the six or seven years since I made them.

Which brings up another interesting question - especially for the beginner - how to find the divination method that works best.  I’ll be relaying my experiences with that as well.  I’ll tip my hand a bit to say that yes, most times it truly is a matter of trial and error, but that usually gives a witch some of the best stories to tell around the balefire!
