Wiccan Ethics Discussion

This one will be a biggie here.  I know the new and the non-Wiccans are probably asking “Wiccan ethics?  I didn’t think Wicca had this!”  Oh yeah, we do.  Anyone who says differently should be questioned at length on this.

Wiccans may not have a long list of “Thou shalt not…” but that doesn’t mean things are prohibited.  We have two deceptively simple-sounding rules:

  • The Wiccan Rede: “An it harm none, do as thou wilt.”  Translated into regular English this is “Do what you want as long as you don’t hurt anyone.”
  • The “Three Fold” Law or Law of Return: “Anything you do comes back to you (times three).”

Each of these two rules will end up spanning several posts, as neither is as simple as they seem.  I just thought a simple quick post outlining them would be in order to introduce a category most people don’t associate with Wicca at first: the ethics of being Wiccan.
